Maintaining Sanity with 僕とダリアと週末に
At times like this, I finally found a song that helps to maintain my sanity. Well, I haven't just found the song; I have been listening to this song since July, even while I was in Europe. It's called 僕とダリアと週末に by Oozekitaku (yes, I talked about how I went crazy and went to Tokyo to see his live gig). I simply adore this song from his latest album. It's upbeat (I suppose it's the drum beat sound that does it) and it really takes you mind off many things.
The song is about travelling, from what I can understand with my limited Japanese. I remember the artist talking about it on his blog but I can't remember exactly what he wrote. Anyway, the song is somewhat filled with hope and it instantly takes you on a trip (more or less to an island, judging from the sound) and makes you escape the everyday bore. This is what my own little world sound like, I said to myself the first time I heard it. It's actually my favourite song from the デラックス・コレクションalbum and it is like Hill Street Connection by Saint Etienne; they get me to calm down whenever I am on the verge of a nervous breakdown (especially these past few weeks). Hill Street Connection is an instrumental piece and it has a rather late 60's or early 70's groove throughout. 僕とダリアと週末に has lyrics that seem to be telling how everyone would have a better life if one changes one's perspective (I know that as well but it's really hard, me being more and more stubborn as I grow old).
