Meditterraneo 1991

A film for those who are always running away. That's what the film ending credits say. It's about a group of not very useful Italian soldiers being sent to a Greek islan for a mission during WWII. Except there's no mission and the soldiers live through an adventure they'll never forget. It's funny and nothing about war, really.

Beautiful scenery and sirtaki music. Makes you want to run away from it all. And that suits my mood of the moment. But I can't run away anymore...

I also think about this film when hot and humid summer arrives because during one scene, a soldier suggests to the general: "We should do something to motivate the soldiers." The general replies: "It's too hot." Totally my way of thinking. I'd really like to say this someday to anyone who asks me to do something in the summer.
