More Eistraum 2007 Photos

More icefest at Vienna. Don't know why but I really liked how they decorated the Viennese Rathaus (city hall) plaza with several skating rings, vendors, and multicolour lighting. Looks rather dreamy.

And then there is this curling-like sport called Eisstockbahn. A bit boring, as a matter of fact but when you've got a few things down the tummy, it's a real blast.

I liked this so much that I went there two nights in a roll (though the 2nd night was free of happy drunk people speaking English, French, German and Spanish with me). It just so happened that when I got back to Taipei, there was the Lantern Festival event in Taipei, with lights streching from City Hall all the way to the government district along Ren Ai Road. However, it didn't do anything for me. The decor was monotonous, with really badly made signs. Seriously, if they were going to waste all the money to organise something, why couldn't they perfect it? And don't get me started on those motorists who travel on snail speed just so they can view the lights while driving. If Eddie from Ab Fab were here, she'd probably run down all the cars in front of her while yelling out "C'mon people, it's a road!"
