Rare outing for Jacob

I don't do trips in Taiwan since, first, I'm not that adventurous as 10 years ago, second, I'm afraid to encounter a large sea of imbeciles and bugs, and third, nothing entices me to visit one specific place. But being trapped inside my flat and nothing to do except housework and reading Wiki day and night can be somewhat suffocating. That's why I asked two kids to get me out to somewhere local, but still out of the city. At the end of the day, I cam to this conclusion: it's not about the place, it's about the people (I knew this already, just forgot about it). It was fun to have people to whom I could actually talk to, without holding back too much. An exhibition of ceramic artworks was fun under this circumstance. I haven't enjoyed an exhibition with people that much since I last went to see Musée d'Orsay with some Swiss-German guy who knew everything about Parisian architecture (geez, that was ages ago!)

But then, I still couldn't get work out of my mind. This is what I saw.

There is a restroom which is handicapped. I wonder what kind of handicap it has. A toilet without seat? An urinal without auto-flush? I didn't go in for further investigation. I wans't that bored.

On the way to the old quarter of the town Yinggae, a sight that puzzled me for the rest of the day. Go figure...
